Time for Wine, RemeiART and Cherries!
The Rambla of Vilanova i la Geltrú, a bustling town just down the coast from Barcelona, was once again the perfect setting for the popular Temps de Ví wine fair, now in its 7th year and a not-to-be-missed event for wine lovers.
The three-day fair saw tastings in restaurants as well as at a number of cultural establishments around the town and even on the sea-front, all to promote and spread wine and cava culture. Visitors to the fair were able to taste products exhibited by over 30 wineries from different apellations or denominaciones de origen (D.O.) in Catalonia.
Attendance this year was excellent with hundreds of people stopping by our stand to taste not only our Padró & Co. vermouths but also some of our wines. Our medium-sweet white wine Nabuc was particularly popular during the week, with the six wines in our Ipsis range following closely behind (Blanc Flor, Chardonnay, Rosat Llàgrima, Tempranillo Merlot, Tempranillo Selecció and Crianza). A superb display of our very best and the response from visitors to the stand to and both our vermouths and our wines was excellent.
It was a full-on weekend for our team, since we were also over in Santa Margarida i els Monjos (Vilafranca) at the RemeiART fair. The region has become renowned for this Vermouth and Herb Liqueur Night, an annual event launched in 2011 and a must-be-there for Padró & Co. The fair aims to showcase some of the herbs that are used in making drinks, as well as those used for health and in food, research and botany.
Meanwhile… we were also out in our own village, Bràfim, supporting the 9th annual Cherry Festival and our 50th Spring Gathering. The whole village gets together every year to enjoy products from the land, vermouth, wine and above all some good company. These local events, when we share some time with everyone in Bràfim, are special for us.
