Tastings names our Padró & Co. Reserva Especial Best Red Vermouth 2018
We rounded off last year with new accolades from the US for our Padró & Co. vermouths, this time from Tastings. Powered by the Beverage Testing Institute and founded in 1981 with the aim of bringing fair and unbiassed reviews to the world of wine, beer and liqueurs, these accolades from Tastings are a solid guide for consumers.
Publications such as The New Yorker, International Wine Review or Wine Enthusiast publish the Tastings reviews on a regular basis, offering their readers a consumer guide and contributing, at the same time, to the competition’s tenacity and credibility at worldwide level.
Our Reserva Especial made the best overall impression on the panel, which awarded the vermouth a Gold medal with 95 points out of 100 and named it Best Red Vermouth 2018. Our Rojo Clásico, which the judges described as “exceptional”, was awarded 90 points and another Gold. Our Rojo Amargo and Blanco Reserva each picked up a Silver medal, with 89 and 88 points respectively and a Bronze medal went to our Dorado Amargo Suave, with 84 points.
The Tastings lab in Chicago is designed to minimise external influence as far as possible, allowing maximum concentration on the part of the panel during blind tasting. Tastings is a benchmark for and guarantee of quality for the most expert of US consumers. Our thanks to the panel for their positive appraisal and we hope very much that our Padró & Co. brand will become a go-to Spanish vermouth in the US.
