Wonderful Wine Weekend at the Sitges Grape Harvest Festival 2019
We enjoyed another great weekend this year at the Sitges Fiesta de la Verema or Grape Harvest Festival, which was also celebrating its 58th birthday. We kicked off at 8pm on Friday October 11, just after the town’s 13th wine show was declared open, with a Padró & Co. vermouth tasting in the tasting tent in Plaza de la Fragata.
This year the Pregón de la Vendimia or grape harvest proclamation was made by Catalan actress and cinema director, Aina Clotet. The square in front of the Town Hall was the setting for this heartfelt proclamation opening the 13th Wine Show, part of the Sitges Grape Harvest Festival.
Our Friday tasting proved to be a huge success and we had a full tent in a matter of minutes. We tasted all five Padró & Co. vermouths: Blanco Reserva, Rojo Clásico, Reserva Especial, Dorado Amargo Suave and Rojo Amargo. Thank you to everyone, as always, who joined us at the event – you were a wonderfully receptive and spontaneous audience.
Once again, it was a pleasure to spend a weekend in the beautiful seaside town of Sitges, enjoying wine and vermouth with you all. The Plaza de la Fragata on the sea front was, as always, the perfect setting for the Grape Harvest Festival, one of the most traditional fiestas on the town’s calendar.
